WELCOME!
If you hunt, fish, boat, hike, garden, farm, or do anything else involving natural resources, then you benefit from Michigan's 82 Conservation Districts. Conservation Districts are "unique" local units of State Government that utilize state, federal, and private sector resources to solve today's conservation problems. Created to serve as stewards of water and soil resources, they take an ecosystem approach to conservation and protection of our resources. In recent years land use patterns have changed dramatically. Fragmentation of the land creates new landowners. Conservation Districts have evolved in order to serve this new & expanding clientele, in addition to servicing their agricultural customers.
This website (although simple) has increased the District's visibility. It was important to us to choose a clear and direct domain name. We are very pleased that folks are learning more about the District, via the internet. NOW YOU CAN LEARN EVEN MORE!!!!!!
The County has been gracious enough to share their web site with the District. The invitation to participate was gladly accepted. The Charlevoix Community Center provides expanded capabilities to post and share District information. Please visit our other web page at http://www.charlevoixcounty.org/cd.asp
